Pachai Payaru Sundal | Green Gram Sundal

Ingredients

pacha payaru / green gram
3
tbsp
grated coconut
Salt to taste
To temper

tsp
oil
1
tsp
mustard seeds
½
tsp
split urad dal
Pinch
of hing/asafoetida
1
dry red chilly
Few curry leaves
1
green chilly
finely chopped
Instructions
Pressure cook the green gram for 3 whistles adding water just enough to cover it.
Heat a small pan and add oil. Then add mustard seeds, urad dal, red chilly, asafoetida, green chilly and curry leaves.
Add the cooked green gram, coconut, salt and gently combine everything.
Notes
The green gram should not be over cooked and turn mushy.
You can add lemon juice at the end.
